A tough one. The closest analogy I can draw is a piece of theatre that succeeds emotionally but is totally painful to watch. I've defended that kind of work to friends in the past and so I feel the need to keep to that line here, but, Jesus: not fun. That said, I would that more people played these kinds of things, so that we could talk about them and form a critical apparatus. So: play it, I guess.
